Who I am

Photography has been a constant thread throughout my life for over thirty years, shaped by experiences spent in service and in nature. I spent ten years as a wildland firefighter, where I developed a deep respect for the power and balance of the natural world, and sixteen years as a paramedic, where I was given the rare opportunity to see life through the eyes of others in their most human moments. Both taught me how to observe, feel, and truly be present—skills that guide every image I create.

My work focuses primarily on landscape photography, with select floral and wildlife subjects. Landscape photography is where I feel most connected. It asks for patience, time, and respect for place. I don’t believe in simply taking photographs—I believe in making them. Influenced by Ansel Adams and his commitment to conservation, I approach photography ethically, with care for the environments that make these images possible.

This work is now being shared with the hope that each photograph offers more than visual beauty—that it allows you to feel what I felt in that moment. A photograph, at its best, is not just something to look at, but something to experience.

“In nature, light creates the colors. In the picture, colors creates the light.”
